Makes 18 biscuits
For Atta Biscuits
1 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
1/4 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
a pinch of nutmeg (jaiphal) powder
a pinch of salt
5 tbsp melted ghee
1/4 cup castor sugar
4 tbsp milk
For atta biscuits
- For atta biscuits
- To make {span class="bold1"}atta biscuits{/span}, combine the whole wheat flour, cardamom powder, nutmeg powder and salt in a deep bowl and mix well. Keep aside.
- Combine the melted ghee and castor sugar in a deep bowl and mix very well using a spatula.
- Add the above mixture into the dry ingredients mixture and mix well using your fingers.
- Add the milk and knead into a semi-stiff dough.
- Roll the dough into a 225 mm. (9”) x 125 mm. (5”) rectangle without using any flour for rolling
- Prick using a fork and cut into 18 equal squares using a sharp knife.
- Place them on a baking tray and bake in a pre-heated oven at 180ºc (360ºf) for 20 minutes.
- Cool the {span class="bold1"}atta biscuits{/span} completely, store in an air-tight container and use as required.
