Cabbage and onions are must-have veggies in the coleslaw, as they contribute to its characteristic flavour. This Basic Coleslaw Recipe can be eaten just like that or stuffed into sandwiches. It can also be served as an accompaniment with burgers .

Makes 1.5 cups
3/4 cup shredded cabbage
1/2 cup carrot juliennes
1/2 cup sliced capsicum
1/4 cup sliced onions
1/2 cup mayonnaise
salt and to taste
- Method
- Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and toss well.
- Refrigerate for atleast 1 hour and serve chilled.
