Chat phat chatpati is a chatpati or tongue tickling evening snack or breakfast recipe with soaked puffed rice cooked with mustard seed,chillies and spice powders.

1 1/2 cups puffed rice (kurmura)
1 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/2 tsp coriander-cumin seeds (dhania-jeera) powder
1/2 tsp sugar
salt to taste
1 1/2 tbsp oil
mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
cumin seeds (jeera)
green chillies (optional)
curry leaves (kadi patta) (optional)
asafoetida (hing)
Method
- First of all soak the puffed rice{kurmura} in water for about 2 -3 mins.
- Drain the water.
- Heat oil in a kadhai and add mustard seeds, jeera seeds, curry leaves, greenchilli, hing.
- Then add the puffed rice and add allthe above mentined dry ingredients and if necessary add salt or sugar according to your taste.
