Chick Pea Dip recipe - How to make Chick Pea Dip

1 tsp. Madras Curry Powder
1/2 tsp dried ginger (soonth) powder
1 tsp. Cumin Powder
1 tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup chopped Green Onions (whites and some green)
4 cloves fresh garlic (lehsun), chopped
1 tbs. Sesame seeds
1 1/2 can chick peas,reserve some liquid
1/2 cup or more non fat Yogurt
2 tbs. fresh Lemon Juice
1 tbs. Parsley
salt and black pepper (kalimirch) powder to taste
Cayenne Pepper or Paprika
Olive Oil for topping
Method
- Toast the spices in a teflon or iron skillet briefly.
- Add the oil, onions, garlic and sesame seeds. saute until the onions are done.
- Puree the mixture in a blender with the yogurt, chickpeas, lemon juice and parsley. add some of the reserved chickpea liquid if the chickpea mixture is too thick.
- Chill and garnish with a little olive oil and sprinkle with cayenne pepper or paprika powder before serving.
