Makes 6 to 9 servings
1 cup soaked moong dal (split green gram)
2 cups chopped spinach (palak)
1 cup grape halves
1/2 cup paneer (cottagte cheese) cubes
2 tsp ghee
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
a few curry leaves (kadi patta)
a pinch asafoetida (hing)
salt to taste
2 tsp coriander (dhania) powder
1 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/2 tsp fennel seeds (saunf) powder
2 tsp chopped green chillies
1 tsp chopped ginger (adrak)
1 tsp sugar

- Method
- Heat the ghee in a kadhai and add the cumin seeds, asafoetida and curry leaves and saute for 20 seconds.
- Add the moong dal, water, salt and cook until water evaporates and is single grain separate yet soft.
- Add all other ingredients and saute for a minute.
- Serve fresh
