Macaroni, an elbow shaped pasta, has always been a favourite with kids. Macaroni mixed with vegetables and cheese and cooked with white sauce and herbs makes a tasty and wholesome meal that the kids are sure to love.

Makes 2 servings
1 cup macaroni
1 tsp butter
1/2 tsp garlic (lehsun) paste
1/4 cup french beans , cut diagonally
1/4 cup carrot , cut diagonally
1/4 cup baby corn , cut diagonally
1 1/2 tsp cornflour dissolved in 1 tbsp milk
1/2 cup milk
3 cheese slices
1/2 tsp dried mixed herbs
salt and freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch) powder to taste

- Method
- Combine the macaroni, 1½ cups of water, butter, garlic, vegetables and salt in a microwave safe bowl and microwave on high for 8 minutes, while stirring once in between.
- Add the cornflour-milk mixture, milk and cheese, mix well and microwave on high for 2 minutes, while stirring once in between.
- Add the pepper and mixed herbs, mix well and microwave on high for 1 more minute.
- Serve immediately.
