A dry seasoning or accompaniment for idlis, to be converted into chutney or sauce with warm ghee.

Makes 200 to 250 grams
10 whole dry kashmiri red chillies
100 gms urad dal (split black lentils)
100 gms chana dal (split bengal gram)
1/2 tsp sesame seeds (til)
a pinch asafoetida (hing)
salt to taste

- Combine all the ingredients in a microwave safe shallow pan or flat tray and dry roast on microwave on HIGH for 4 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool.
- Dry grind into a fine powder. It can be stored in a moisture free place for future use.
