2 cups sweet potato (shakarkand) cubes
2 tbsp ghee
3/4 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp coriander-cumin seeds (dhania-jeera) powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
salt to taste

  1. Heat the ghee in a deep non-stick pan.
  2. Add the sweet potato cubes, mix it gently and cook on a medium flame for 5 minutes, while tossing occasionally.
  3. Add the chilli powder, coriander-cumin seeds powder, turmeric powder and salt, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes, while tossing occasionally.
  4. Serve hot with parathas and curd or for a snack.

tips to make masala shakarkand

  1. Sweet potato should be cut and used immediately or it will discolour. 
  2. Kids will enjoy this if spice is reduced, do serve them with any paratha and curd for a complete meal. 
  3. After making this can be served after 2 hours also but make sure you have heated it well.
