There is nothing like Masaledar Kand for an energizing snack! It is amazing how a sprinkling of common masalas can transform fried kand slices into a snack that tickles the taste buds. Surely it must be the lemon juice that does the trick!

Makes 4 servings
2 cups thinly sliced purple yam (kand)
oil for deep-frying
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp chaat masala
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
2 tsp lemon juice
salt to taste

- Method
- Heat the oil in a deep kadhai and deep-fry the purple yam slices, a few at a time, till they turn golden brown in colour from both the sides. Drain on an absorbent paper.
- Arrange them on a serving plate, overlapping each other and sprinkle some chilli powder, chaat masala, coriander, lemon juice and salt over them.
- Serve immediately.
