Mixed dal crisps is a crispy fried flat puris made from mixed dal dough and relished with aloo curry.

Ingredients


To Be Blended Into A Powder
1 cup chana dal (split bengal gram)
3/4 cup urad dal (split black lentils)
1 cup chola dal (split cow peas)
2 cups moong dal (split green gram)

Other Ingredients
6 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp salt
1 tbsp ghee
1 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
2 tbsp sesame seeds (til)
2 tsp green chilli paste
a pinch of baking soda
oil for deep frying

Method
    Method
  1. In a deep pan, boil 3/4cup water and add salt.
  2. Remove from the flame and add the sugar and ghee and mix well.
  3. Combine the remaining ingredients in a large bowl, add the prepared water and knead into semi-soft dough.
  4. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll out each portion into small thin puris or 4" diameter.
  5. Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep fry each crisp till they turn golden brown and crisp from all the sides.
  6. Drain on an absorbent paper and serve hot or store in an air-tight container.
