Narangi pulav or orange flavoured rice recipe is truly one of the most amazing nad unique rice or pulav recipe. The soaked rice is cooked with orange juice, whole spices, orange rind juliennes and crushed peppercorns. Relish the narangi rice with saffron soaked water garnishing and chopped nuts as topping.

2 cups rice (chawal)
10 oranges
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup ghee
2 sticks of cinnamon (dalchini)
2 cloves (laung / lavang)
2 cardamoms (elaichi)
1/2 tsp freshly crushed black pepper
2 gms saffron (kesar) strands
Method
- Extract juice from the oranges and keep the skin in halves.
- Soak rice in water for thirty minutes.
- Cut juliennes of the orange rind. boil in water thrice, changing the water each time.
- Heat ghee in a saucepan. add cinnamon, cloves, green cardamoms and roast for a while. add soaked rice and stir.
- Add orange juice to the rice. add rind juliennes.
- Add sea salt, sugar, freshly crushed peppercorns and sufficient water and mix well.
- Add saffron dissolved in a little milk and mix. cover tightly and cook on medium heat till done.
