Makes 3 cup
2 tbsp wheat (gehun)
2 tbsp chana dal (split bengal gram)
1 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/2 tsp fenugreek (methi) seeds
1 pinch of asafoetida (hing)
1 tsp peppercorns (kalimirch)
16 to 20 whole dry kashmiri red chillies
8 tbsp coriander (dhania) seeds
1 1/2 tbsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1 1/2 tbsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
Method
- Method
- Dry roast all ingredients one at a time, except the asafoetida.
- Cool, add theasafoetida powder and blend in a mixer into a smooth powder.
- Store in an airtight container and use as required.
