A delicious gravy dish made with soya chunks mixed with a paste of different spices and herbs.
Soya Varutha Curry recipe - How to make Soya Varutha Curry
Preparation Time: 10 MINS Cooking Time: 20 MINS Total Time:
FOR MAKING PASTE
5 red chillies
1 tsp peppercorns
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1/2 cup grated coconut
2 tsp coriander (dhania) seeds
FOR MAKING GRAVY
1 stick of cinnamon (dalchini)
1 tsp fennel seeds (saunf)
few curry leaves (kadi patta)
200 gms chopped onions
1 tsp ginger-garlic (adrak-lehsun) paste
2 green chillies, slit
200 gms chopped tomatoes
1/4 cup curds (dahi)
1 tsp chilli powder
2 tsp coriander (dhania) powder
200 gms soya chunks (nuggets)
salt to taste
coriander (dhania) leaves for garnishing

Method
- Make a fine paste with red chilly,pepper,jeera,coconut grated,coriander seeds.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Put cinnamon,saunf,curry leaves,onion chopped
- And saute until golden brown.
- When onion turns golden brown add ginger garlic paste,green chilly slit,tomato finely chopped,curd,red chilly powder,coriander powder.
- Saute until raw smell of powder goes and tomato becomes mushy.
- Add soya chunks and salt.
- Saute until raw smell of soya goes.
- Add the ground paste and saute again till oil leaves the sides.
- Now switch off and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
