Makes 4 to 6 servings
5 tomatoes
2 garlic (lehsun) cloves
1 onion , chopped
2 tsp chopped ginger (adrak)
1 tsp olive oil
salt to taste
5 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
1/4 tsp nutmeg (jaiphal) powder
For The Garnish
chopped basil leaves
grated paneer (cottage cheese)
Method
- Method
- Combine the tomatoes, garlic, onions and ginger, mix well and pressure cook till soft.
- Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid, cool slightly and blend in a mixer till smooth.
- Strain using a sieve and again bring to boil.
- Add the salt, sugar, cardamom powder and nutmeg powder and mix well and simmer for more 2 minutes.
- Serve hot garnished with basil and paneer.
