A quick and innovative chutney. . Serve with rotis, chapatis or any parathas. Surely to be relished by all.

Makes 4 servings
1 cup chopped cabbage
5 to 6 whole dry kashmiri red chillies
2 tbsp urad dal (split black lentils)
2 tbsp chopped onions
3 tbsp tamarind (imli) water
2 tbsp oil
a pinch asafoetida (hing)
salt to taste

- Method
- Heat the oil in a pan, add the urad dhal and saute till it changes its colour.
- Add the red chillies and asafoetida and saute for few minutes.
- Add the onions and saute for 2 minutes or till they turn translucent.
- Add the cabbage, mix well and cook for 3 minutes.
- Remove from the flame and keep aside to cool.
- Blend in a mixer along with tamarind juice, salt to a smooth paste.
- Serve immediately or store refrigerated.
