Makes 2 to 4 people
500 gms green green peas
3 chopped tomatoes
2 chopped onions
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp grated ginger (adrak)
1 tbsp chopped green chillies
1 tsp garam masala
2 tsp coriander (dhania) powder
1 tsp coconut powder
1 tbsp chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
salt to taste
1 cup water
1/2 cup chopped coriander (dhania)
Method
- Method
- Soak the dry green peas overnight.
- In a pressure cooker, heat the oil and add the onions and green chillies.
- Once the onions turn golden brown, add ginger-garlic paste and saute for 2 minutes.
- Add the vatana and tomatoes and mix well.
- Add garam masala, turmeric powder, salt, chilli powder, coriander powder, coconut powder and saute for a minute.
- Add water and sprinkle coriander leaves.
- Close the pressure cooker lid and pressure cook for 4 whistles
- Serve hot with rice or chapatis.

Tasty curry.. but very hot and spicy. Added milk to compensate. Planning to avoid green chillies.
