Ingredients


For Eggless Jeera Biscuits
1/2 cup soft butter
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
1 tbsp roasted white cumin seeds (jeera)
9 tbsp milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) for sprinkling

Method

  1. To make {span class="bold1"}jeera cookies{/span}, in a bowl add butter and whisk well until light and fluffy.
  2. Add in wheat flour, roasted jeera, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Mix well using your fingertips to get the crumbly mixture.
  3. Add milk and knead into a semi-soft dough.
  4. Make a cylindrical shape roll and wrap in cling wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  5. Remove the cling wrap, cut into 12 equal thick slices.
  6. Place the cookies on a lined baking tray and sprinkle little cumin seeds over the cookies.
  7. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180°c (360°f) for 20 minutes.
  8. Remove and cool completely. Store the {span class="bold1"}jeera cookies{/span} in an air-tight container and use as required.
