A payasam recipe with a nice twist. Matar ki kheer is prepared by cooking mashed matar or peas with condensed milk , sugar and cardamoms. An unique green colored kheer recipe with an irrestible taste.

Makes 5 to 6 servings
1 1/4 ltrs milk
1/2 cup ghee
1/2 cup boiled green peas , crushed
1 cup sugar
1 cup cardamom (elaichi) powder
1 tsp raisins (kismis)
20 to 25 pistachios
Method
- Method
- Heat the ghee in a deep pan, add the green peas paste and saute for 5 minutes.
- Keep aside.
- Boil the milk in another deep pan and to the peas, mix well and boil together for 15-20 minutes or till the milk reduces to half.
- Add the sugar,cardamom powder,raisins,and pistachios, mix well and cook for 10 minutes on slow flame, while stirring continuously.
- Serve hot or chilled.
