Paal payasam, the queen of all dessert recipes prepared by mixing rice with condensed and sweetened milk. An onam festival specialty, paal payasam is a traditional rice based sweet dish, best served garnished with chopped nuts.

1/2 cup rice (chawal)
500 ml milk
3 cups sugar
chopped mixed nuts for garnishing
Method
- Method
- Combine the rice and milk in a pressure cooker, add little water and pressure cook fo 2 whistles or till the rice is cooked.
- Add the sugar, mix well and bring to boil till the sugar dissolves.
- Serve hot or cold.
