A quick, easy to prepare, health inspired pizza recipe, Oriental pizza has whole wheat pizza as base. The vegetables are cooked in a true Oriental style of cooking and spread as topping. A tasty and lovely alternative to a typical tomato sauce based pizza sauce and stir fried veggies as topping.

Ingredients


Ingredients :
For the Pizza Base :
( note you can also use readymade pizza base if required to be made in a hurry )
250 gms plain flour (maida)
10 gms fresh yeast or 1 ½ tsp yeast
salt to taste
3/4 tsp powdered sugar
3 tsp oil
warm water
For the sauce & topping :
2 cups boiled noodles
1/2 cup shredded cabbage
1/2 cup bean sprouts
1 carrot, grated
1 capsicum, sliced
3 spring onions, sliced
1/4 cup finely chopped spring onion greens
2 tbsp grated ginger (adrak)
6 large or 10 small cloves garlic (lehsun), chopped
1 tbsp chilli sauce
1 tsp cornflour
1 tsp soy sauce
oil
salt to taste
For Garnish
grated processed cheese or grated paneer (cottage cheese)

Method


for the base

  1. Seive the flour ,salt and sugar together add oil & mix well
  2. Make a well in the middle and crumble the yeast add ½ cup warm water
  3. After 5 minutes mix and make a dough using warm water
  4. Leave the dough covered with a wet cloth for about 40-45 mins. till the quantity has doubled
  5. Roll out the dough according to the size of the pizza pan , ½ “ thick
  6. Grease the pizza pan using oil liberally
  7. Put the rolled out dough on the pan and set aside

For the sauce & topping

  1. Heat abt 1 tbsp oil in a pan , add garlic & ginger ,stir for a min.
  2. Add sprouts and stir fry for 2 mins.
  3. Then add the oninons , carrot , leaves , cabbage & capsicum
  4. Mix the cormflour ,salt & soya sauce to ½ cup water
  5. Add chilly sauce & the cornflour paste .
  6. Finally add noodles stir for 2 to 3 mins remove from fire
  7. Spread these on the pizza base garnish with grated cheese/paneer
  8. Bake in very hot oven at 500 degrees f for 20 mins.
  9. If using readymade pizza base bake till cheese melts and appears light brown.
  10. Cut and serve hot.
