Paneer burfi is a traditional indian mithai or sweet dish recipe prepared from freshly made paneer or cottage cheese. The paneer is crumbled and cooked with sugar and nuts and then spread on a greased thali. Cut the paneer burfi in any desired shape and serve garnished with pista shavings.

Ingredients

2 cups paneer (cottage cheese)
1/4 cup milk powder
1/2 cup powdered sugar
3/4 cup ghee
1 1/2 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
8 to 10 blanched pistachios
8 to 10 blanched almonds (badam)
2 to 3 edible silver warq

Method
    Method
  1. Combine the paneer, milk powder and sugar in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Heat the ghee in a deep pan, add the paneer mixture and cook on a slow flame, while stirring continuously, till the ghee separates.
  3. Remove from the flame and sprinkle cardamom powder.
  4. Cool little and knead well.
  5. Shape into a flat rounds and add almonds and pistachios.
  6. Decorate with silver varq.
  7. Serve immediately or store refrigerated.
