Makes 8 tikkis
For Peanut Tikki
1/2 cup roasted and powdered peanuts
1/2 cup besan (bengal gram flour)
1/2 cup chopped spinach (palak)
5 tbsp whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
1 1/2 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1 tbsp lemon juice
salt to taste
1 tsp warm oil for kneading
2 1/2 tsp oil for greasing and cooking
2 tsp green chutney
For peanut tikki
- For peanut tikki
- To make {span class="bold1"}peanut tikki{/span}, combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl, mix well and knead into a soft dough using ¼ cup water.
- Add 1 tsp of warm oil and again knead well.
- Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into 50 mm. (2”) diameter thin round flat tikkis.
- Heat a non-stick tava (griddle) and grease it using ½ tsp of oil. Cook each tikki on it using ¼ tsp of oil till they turn golden brown in colour from both the sides.
- Serve {span class="bold1"}peanut tikki{/span} immediately with green chutney.

It is an excellent recipe. Green chutney goes very well with the tikkis. Everyone loved it.
A very different type of a tikki... usually we use potato as a base... however here whole wheat flour and besan is used.. thus making them a little more dense in texture... and also filling... these tangy spicy tikkis are a delight...
