A delicious and healthy spinach salad full of iron with a yummy dressing.
Popeye's Secret recipe - How to make Popeye's Secret

1 tbsp butter
3/4 cup almonds (badam), blanched and slivered
1 pound spinach (palak), washed and torn into pieces
1 cup dried cranberries
2 tbsp roasted sesame seeds (til)
1 tbsp poppy seeds (khus-khus)
2 tbsp sugar
2 tsp finely chopped onions
1/4 tsp dry red chilli flakes (paprika)
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
1/4 cup cider vinegar (apple vinegar)
3 tbsp olive oil
Method
- In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Cook and stir almonds in butter until lightly toasted.
- Remove from heat, and let cool.
- In a large bowl, combine the spinach with the toasted almonds and cranberries.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the sesame seeds, poppy seeds, sugar, onion, paprika, white wine vinegar, cider vinegar, and olive oil.
- Toss with spinach just before serving.
