Ingredients
1/2 cup chopped red pumpkin (bhopla / kaddu)
2 cups thick curds (dahi), well beaten
1 onion, chopped
1 medium sized tomato, chopped
1/2 tsp chilli powder
2 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania) for garnishing
1 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
1/2 tsp urad dal (split black lentils)
2 to 3 whole dry kashmiri red chillies
a few curry leaves (kadi patta)
a pinch of asafoetida (hing)
salt to taste
Method
- Keep the red pumpkin in a microve bowl and microwave for 3-4 minutes covered.
- Mash the cooked red pumpkin well. let it cool.
- After it cools add yoghrt, salt, chilli powder, cut onionsand tomato and mix well.
- Heat oil in a pan, add hing, mustard seeds, curry leaves and urid dal. when it turns slightly brown add to the yoghrt-pumpkin mixture
- Garnish with coriander and serve.
