Sauteed Tofu With Celery recipe - How to make Sauteed Tofu With Celery

Ingredients

450 gms extra firm tofu , cut into 1" thick strips
2 tsp vinegar
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 egg white
4 tbsp oil
8 slit green chillies
6 shallots (madras onions) , sliced
2 tsp sliced ginger (adrak)
4 garlic (lehsun) cloves , sliced
6 to 8 celery (ajmoda) , sliced and blanched

For The Sauce
1 1/2 tbsp cornflour
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce

    Method
  1. Combine the vinegar, soya sauce and egg white, mix well and keep aside for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat 3 tbsp oil in a wok and add the tofu and shallow fry till they turn golden brown. Keep aside.
  3. Heat the remaining oil in a pan and add the green chillies, garlic, shallots, ginger and celery and saute for a minute.
  4. Add the tofu and toss well.
  5. Combine the cornflour, water, soya sauce and sweet chilli sauce, mix well and add to the tofu mixture.
  6. Boil for a minute ir till sauce turns thick.
  7. Serve hot.
