Add Soy - koftas in your main course fare to reap the rich taste and good health benefits of soya beans. The soya granules are made into fried koftad or dumplings and then simmered in an onion tomato based mouthwatering cutty.

Ingredients


for koftas:
soya bean flour - 1 cup
bottle gourd - 250gms (grated)
1 tsp oil
1 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
salt to taste
oil for frying
for gravy :
2 onions, finely chopped
tomatoes - 2 finely chopped
2 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tsp garam masala
cashewnut - 5nos (powdered)
oil - 3tsp
salt to taste
1 cup water
coirander - 3tsp chopped

Method

  1. For koftas:
  2. Heat oil in a pan.
  3. Add the bottle gourd, chilli powder,turmeric and salt.
  4. Close lid and cook for 5 min.
  5. Add the soya flour and toss for 3-4 min.
  6. When cool shape into small round balls.
  7. Deep fry till golden brown.
  8. For gravy:
  9. Heat oil in a pan .
  10. Saute the onions till golden brown.
  11. Add tomatoes and all powders and salt.
  12. Saute for 4-5 min.
  13. Add water and bring to a boil.
  14. Add the koftas and leave it on low heat for 5 min.
  15. Garnish with coirander.
