Sprouts Spicy Kichdi recipe - How to make Sprouts Spicy Kichdi
Preparation Time: 15mts Cooking Time: 20mts Total Time:
1 cup long grained rice (basmati)
3/4 cup mixed sprouts or any sprout
1 onion
2 tomatoes
2 carrots
1/2 cup chopped cauliflower
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/2 tsp sugar
1 tsp caraway seeds (shahjeera)
1 " stick of cinnamon (dalchini)
2 cloves (laung / lavang)
1 tbsp ginger-garlic (adrak-lehsun) paste
salt to taste
1 tbsp oil or ghee
4 cups water
Method
- Soak rice and sprouts fro 15 mts
- Heat oil add the chopped onion and salt
- When it turns white add ginger garlic paste
- Add the vegetables and saute for 5 mts
- Add the rice and sprouts and add the chilli powder and haldi
- Add sugar and extra salt if reqd and pour 4 cups of water
- Make it to boil for 5mts and pressure cook for 2 whistles
- Garnish with corriander
