The Indian answer to barbecues, an irresistible paneer tikka made of paneer, capsicum, onions and tomatoes marinated in a slightly spicy tandoori marinade.

Serves 6.
For the tikas
2 cups paneer (cottagte cheese) cubes
1 cup onion cubes
1 cup capsicum cubes
1 cup tomato cubes
1 tbsp oil
To be mixed into a tandoori marinade
1/4 cup curds (dahi), beaten
1 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/2 tsp ginger (adrak) paste
1/4 tsp garlic (lehsun) paste
1/4 tsp besan (Bengal gram flour)
1/2 tsp chaat masala
1/2 tsp dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
1/2 tsp garam masala
2 drops of red colour (optional)
salt to taste
Method
- Main Procedure
- Marinate the paneer, onions, capsicum and tomato for about 20 minutes and then arrange on skewers.
- Cook on barbeque for a few minutes. Alternatively, you could use the grill option of the oven or even just use a tava (griddle).
- When the edges turn golden brown, remove from the skewer and serve hot with a chutney of your choice.
