Tandoori Paneer Tikka ( Kebabs and Tikkis Recipe)

We present authentic Tandoori Paneer Tikka in all its glory, albeit grilled conveniently in an oven rather than in a tandoor. Succulent paneer pieces, marinated in a pungent mix of masala powders, ginger, garlic, curd and most importantly kasuri methi, gets an irresistible aroma and a nice blend of spicy, bitter and sour flavours that tease yet delight the taste buds excitingly.

Makes 4 servings
2 cups paneer (cottage cheese) , cut into 50 mm.(2") x 12 mm.( 1/2") cubes
To Be Mixed Into A Marinade
1/2 cup thick curds (dahi) , whisked
1 tsp ginger (adrak) paste
1 tsp garlic (lehsun) paste
2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
1/2 tsp garam masala
2 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)
1 tsp chaat masala
1 tbsp oil
salt to taste
- Method
- Combine the paneer cubes with the prepared marinade and toss gently till the marinate coats the paneer pieces evenly from all sides. Keep aside for 15 minutes.
- Arrange the paneer pieces on the wire rack in a pre-heated oven at 200°c (400°f) and grill till the paneer is done (approx. 15 minutes).
- Remove from the oven and serve hot.
