Veg burger is a nice way of sneaking in vegetables in the child's favorite burger recipe,. The shallow fried vegetable cutlet is placed in the burger buns along with cheese, tomato slices and then enjoyed hot with ketchup.

Ingredients


For The Tikki
150 gms soaked kala chana , boiled and mashed
150 gms boiled and mashed potatoes
1/4 cup brown bread crumbs
salt to taste
1 tsp dried mango powder (amchur)
2 tsp ginger (adrak) paste
1 tsp chilli powder
100 gms grated paneer (cottage cheese)
oil for cooking

Other Ingredients
5 burger buns
5 tsp tomato ketchup
5 tsp green chutney
5 slices of onions
5 slices of cucumber
5 slices of tomatoes
1/4 cup shredded cabbage
5 cheese slices
butter for cooking

For Serving

Method
For the tikki

    For the tikki
  1. Combine all the ingredients except the paneer in a bowl and mix into a tough mixture.
  2. Divide the mixture into 5 equal portion balls.
  3. Take one portion of the mixture and stuff 1 tsp of the paneer, seal it and shape into a flat tikki.
  4. Heat the oil in a non-stick pan, add the oil and shallow fry from both the sides on slow flame till it turns to light brown in colour. Keep aside.

  1. Cut each bun horizontally into two and toast them lightly in an oven or on a tava using litle butter.
  2. Spread one tsp of ketchup on one inside of the bun and one tsp of green chutney on the other side of the bun.
  3. Place a tikki on the bun, then a slice of tomato, one slice of cucumber, one slice of onion, some cabbage and lastly top with cheese slice and cover with the other part of the bun.
  4. Pierce a toothpick through the bun and serve hot with ketchup.
