1 katori rice (chawal)
1/2 katori moong dal (split green gram)
mixed vegetables like carrots/green beans/cauliflower/green peas
2 tbsp oil
3 1/2 to 4 katori water
coriander-cumin seeds (dhania-jeera) powder
1 tsp chilli powder
salt to taste
1 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
curry leaves (kadi patta)
asafoetida (hing)
turmeric powder (haldi)
garam masala (optional)
coriander (dhania) leaves
coconut
lemon juice
Method
- Wash and drain rice and daal.
- Cut veggies in medium pieces.
- Heat oil, put heeng, jeera, mustard,curry leaves, haldi
- Add veggies and daal-rice and fry it for 5 min.
- Add water and bring it to boil.
- When almost done add other masalas, salt.
- Let it cook for 5-10 more minutes.
- Garnish with coriander, khobra and lemon juice. serve hot.
