  1. Combine the coconut, coriander, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, ginger paste, green chilli paste, besan, sugar and salt in a deep bowl and mix very well with your hands.
  2. Add the banana slices and toss gently. Keep aside.
  3. Heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan and add the mustard seeds and asafoetida.
  4. When the seeds crackle, add the prepared banana-masala mixture, mix gently and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes ,while stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve hot.
