Makes 2 servings
1 cup shredded cabbage
2 big finely chopped onions
1 1/2 cups besan (bengal gram flour)
2 tbsp cornflour
1 tsp baking powder
2 to 3 chopped green chillies
1 tsp finely grated ginger (adrak)
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) or cumin seeds (jeera) powder
1 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tsp coriander (dhania) powder
1 tsp dried mango powder (amchur) powder
salt to taste.

- Method
- In a big bowl combine besan and cornflour. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well.
- Add enough water to make a thick smooth batter.
- Heat the oil in a deep kadhai, drop spoonfuls of the mixture and deep-fry a few pakodas at a time, on a medium flame till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides. Drain on an absorbent paper.
- Serve hot.
