Green Peas Dhokla, Microwave Dhokla Recipe

Makes 2 servings
1/4 cup boiled and coarsely crushed green peas
1/2 cup besan (bengal gram flour)
1 tsp ginger-green chilli paste
1 tbsp powdered sugar
1/2 tsp lemon juice
salt to taste
3/4 tsp fruit salt
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
1/2 tsp finely chopped green chillies
a pinch of asafoetida (hing)
For The Garnish
1 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
1 tbsp grated coconut
For Serving

- Method
- Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl, except the fruit salt along with approx. ΒΌ cup of water and mix very well using your hands.
- Just before steaming, add the fruit salt and 2 tsp of water and mix gently.
- Pour into a 150 mm. (6") diameter greased microwave safe dish with a lid and microwave on high for 3 minutes covered. Remove and let it stand for 2 minutes.
- Combine the oil and the mustard seeds in a microwave safe bowl and microwave on high for 2 minutes.
- Add the green chillies and asafoetida and microwave on high for 1 more minute.
- Pour the tempering over the dhoklas and cut into square pieces.
- Garnish with the chopped coriander and grated coconut and serve immediately with green chutney.

tasty...yummy...quick recipe...can make any time...my family liked it very much...green peas dhokla is a good variation of regular dhokla.
5 stars. It is really so easy. I have tried it in the microwave and the stove top steam method, both are very good. I also substituted the peas with grated baby marrow.
