Makes 2 to 3 servings
For The Paneer Marination
400 gms paneer (cottagte cheese) cubes
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/2 tsp chilli powder
2 tsp lemon juice
salt to taste
1 tbsp ginger-garlic (adrak-lehsun) paste
For The Cherry Chutney
250 gms cherries
30 gms tamarind (imli)
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1/8 tsp black salt (sanchal)
salt to taste
1/2 tsp pomegranate (anardana) powder
1/2 tsp sugar

20 ml olive oil

- For the paneer marination
- In a deep bowl combine the paneer, turmeric powder, chilli powder, lemon juice, salt and ginger-garlic paste and mix well.
- Keep aside and allow to marinate for 30 minutes.
For the cherry chutney

- De seed the cherries and add half cherries to a heated pan.
- Add the tamarind, cumin seeds, salt, black salt, pomogranate powder and sugar, mix well.
- Cook till tamrind is cooked and thick.
- Strain the mixture and add half the cherries.
- Keep aside.

- Heat the oil in a pan add the marinated paneer and cook till they turn golden brown from all the sides.
- Remove on a serving plate and drizzle the cherry chutney. Serve hot.
