Health boms are very delicious and nutritious cutlets crisp outside and soft and spicy inside. These are stomach filling and very good for small parties.

Ingredients


For The Outer Potato Covering
4 boiled , peeled and mashed potatoes
bread crumbs
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch)

For The Filling
1 packet masala quick cooking rolled oats
1/2 grated paneer (cottage cheese)
2 tbsp milk
1/2 tsp chopped green chillies
1/2 tsp grated ginger (adrak)
1 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)
powdered corn flakes for coating
oil for deep-frying

Method

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and mix well to make a dough.
  2. Divide into equal portions and keep aside.

For the filling

  1. Roast the oats in non-stick pan till light golden in color and crush them to a coarse powder.
  2. Combine the remaining ingredients along with the crushed oats in a deep and mix well.

  1. Take a portion of the potato mixture, flatten it and stuff it with a portion of the filling, bring the edges together to form a ball.Roll the ball in powdered cornflakes and keep aside.
  2. Repeat step 1 to make more stuffed balls.
  3. Heat oil in a deep non-stick kadhai and deep-fry the balls, a few at a time till golden brown in colour.
  4. Drain on an absorbent paper.
  5. Serve hot with tomato ketchup and green mint chutney.
