Makes 4 servings
1 cup toovar (arhar) dal
1 tsp fenugreek (methi) seeds
1 tbsp chana dal (split bengal gram)
1 tbsp moong (whole green gram) dal (green gram) flour
1 tsp ginger-garlic (adrak-lehsun) paste
4 green chillies
1/2 cup boiled and mashed red pumpkin (bhopla/ kaddu) , chopped into small pieces
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
1/4 cup chopped carrots
1/4 cup green peas
1/4 cup cauliflower
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
cinnamon (dalchini) , , to season
a pinch of turmeric powder (haldi)
salt to taste
1 tsp sugar
Method
- Method
- Pressure cook toor dal, methi, channa dal and green gram dal with haldi powder and keep aside
- Heat oil in a kadai add jeera and the spices
- Add ginger garlic paste
- Add the vegetables and saute it for 5 mts
- Add salt,sugar,green chillies and little water tillthey are finely cooked
- Add the cooked dal and allow it to boil for 10 mts
- Garnish with corriander
