Ingredients

1/2 cup broken wheat (dalia)
1/2 cup broken jowar (white millet)
1 tbsp quick cooking rolled oats
4 to 5 cashewnuts (kaju) , broken
1 onion , finely chopped
1 tomato , finely chopped
1 stalk of curry leaves (kadi patta)
2 green chillies , finely chopped
1 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania) leaves
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson) and
2 pinches of asafoetida (hing) powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
salt to taste
1 tbsp oil

Method
    Method
  1. Dry roast the broken wheat and jowar in a pan for two minutes.
  2. Cool and pressure cook the roasted broken wheat and jowar together in 2 cups water for approx. 2 whistles.
  3. Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid.
  4. Heat oil in a pan, add the mustard seeds.
  5. When the seeds crackle, add the curry leaves and chillies and saute for 20 seconds.
  6. Add the onions, tomatoes and saute for two minutes.
  7. Add the cooked rolled oats and jowar and mix well.
  8. Add turmeric, salt, lemon juice, coriander, mix well and cover and cook till is fluffy and excess moisture evaporates.
  9. Serve hot with a cold iced tea or as a hot snack by itself
