This is a low-calorie dish.

Potato/tomato Pachadi recipe - How to make Potato/tomato Pachadi

250 gms medium potatoes
200 gms tomatoes
a small ball of tamarind (imli)
a smalll ball of jaggery (gur)
4 green chillies
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/2 tsp chilli powder
salt to taste
1 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
1 tsp urad dal (split black lentils)
1 tsp oil (for tempering)
Method
- Add the tamarind into 2 cups of hot water.
- Pressure cook the potatoes, chop into cubes when cool.
- Chop tomatoes into medium pieces.
- Squeeze thick pulp from the tamarind.
- Add chopped potatoes/tomatoes, salt, jaggery, turmeric,green chillies and red chilli powder.
- Let the vegetables cook well.
- For the tempering, heat the oil, add the mustard seeds and urad dal.
