Roti Chivda recipe - How to make Roti Chivda

Makes 2 servings
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson)
2 green chillies
a few curry leaves (kadi patta)
a pinch asafoetida (hing)
1 onion , chopped
2 to 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
7 to 8 leftover rotis , torn into small pieces
salt to taste
1/2 tbsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp lemon juice
Method
- Method
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add the mustard seeds,curry leaves and asafoetida.
- When the seeds crackle, add the onions, green chilles and garlic paste, mix well and cook till onion turns golden brown in colour.
- Add the roti and the remaining ingredients, except lemon juice, mix well and cook on slow flame till the roti becomes cripsy.
- Add the lemon juice, mix well and serve hot roti chivda with curds.
