Spicy Moong Dal recipe - How to make Spicy Moong Dal
Preparation Time: Cooking Time: Total Time:
1/2 cup moong dal (split green gram) (with or without skin)
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
2 green chillies
2 tomatoes, chopped
2 cloves garlic (lehsun), chopped
3 cloves (laung / lavang)
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
3/4 tsp garam masala
salt to taste
2 tsp oil
Method
- Wash and cook dhal in pressure cooker for 1 whistle.
- Mash it well.
- In a kadai, heat oil.
- Add jeera. when it splutters
- Add the garlic, cloves and green chillies.
- Saute for 1 minute. add the tomatoes and chilli powder.saute till the tomatoes are soft.
- Add some haldi and the garam masala along with cooked dhal.
- Add salt to taste and heat through till well mixed.
- Serve, garnished with dhania leaves.
- Goes well with rice or any roti or chapathi.
