Makes 15 wontons
For Veg Steamed Wontons
15 wonton wrappers
2 tbsp finely chopped spring onion greens
1 tsp sesame seeds (til) for garnish
To Be Mixed Into Chilli Oil Mixture
2 tbsp dry red chilli flakes (paprika)
1/2 tsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp powdered sugar
1 tsp sesame seeds (til)
1/4 cup oil
1 star anise (chakri phool)
1 cinnamon (dalchini) stick
1 tbsp finely chopped garlic (lehsun)
For The Filling
1 tbsp oil
1 tbsp finely chopped garlic (lehsun)
1 tsp finely chopped ginger (adrak)
1 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1/4 cup finely chopped onions
1 cup finely chopped mixed vegetables
salt and freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch) to taste
1/4 tsp vinegar
1/4 tsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp red chilli sauce
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
For the vegetable filling

- To make {span class="bold1"}veg steamed wontons recipe{/span}, heat the oil in a broad non-stick pan, and add garlic, ginger, green chillies and sauté for a few seconds.
- Add onions and sauté on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes.

- Mix well and sauté on a medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes.
- Switch off the flame, add the coriander and mix well. Keep aside to cool completely.

- Cook them well on a medium flame for 5 to 8 minutes or until done.
- Repeat steps 5 and 6 to cook the remaining wontons.
