Makes 1 servings
3 medium red tomatoes
1/2 onion , chopped
2 cloves (laung / lavang) of garlic (lehsun) , crushed
1/2 tsp chilli powder
2 tbsp tomato ketchup
1 tsp cornflour , mixed with 5 tbsp water
1 tsp sugar
1 tbsp butter
salt to taste

- Method
- Cut the tomatoes into big pieces. Put them into a shallow dish and microwave on high for 4 to 5 minutes. Blend in a liquidiser and strain.
- Put the butter in a glass bowl and melt it by microwaving on high for about 15 seconds.
- Add the onion and garlic and simmer (cook level 5) for about 1 1/2 minutes.
- Add the tomato puree, chilli powder, tomato ketchup, cornflour mixture, sugar and salt. Microwave on high for 3 minutes, stirring in-between after every 1 minute.
- Use as required.
