Yummy Beetroot Chutney recipe - How to make Yummy Beetroot Chutney

Makes 1 cup
1 cup grated beetroot
1/2 cup urad dal (split black lentils)
1/2 cup freshly grated coconut
4 whole dry red chillies
a few curry leaves (kadi patta)
a small sized ball of tamarind (imli)
3 cloves (laung / lavang) of garlic (lehsun)
salt to taste
Method
- Method
- Heat the oil in a pan, add the urad dal and saute on a medium flame till the dal turns golden brown in colour.
- Add the curry leaves, red chillies and garlic, mix well and saute on a medium flame for few minutes.
- Add the beetroot and saute well till cooked.
- Add coconut and saute for 2 minutes.
- Cool slightly and blend in a mixer combined with tamarind, salt to thick chutney.
- Eat with rice.
