Crispy Jeera Aloo recipe - How to make Crispy Jeera Aloo

Makes 3 to 4 servings
4 tbsp butter
2 tbsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1 tbsp sesame seeds (til)
a pinch asafoetida (hing)
10 to 15 garlic (lehsun) cloves , finely chopped
1 small piece of ginger (adrak) , finely chopped
5 green chillies , deseeded and finely chopped
salt to taste
2 to 3 tbsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tbsp garam masala
1/2 tsp dried mango powder (amchur)
500 gms potatoes , boiled , peeled and cut into cubes
coriander (dhania) for garnish
Method
- Method
- Heat the butter in a broad pan, add the cumin seeds and sesame seeds.
- When the seeds crackle, add the asafoetida, garlic, ginger and green chillies, mix well and saute on a medium flame for a minute or two.
- Add the remaining ingredients, mix well and saute on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add potatoes and coriander, mix well and cover and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, till the potatoes becomes soft.
- Serve hot.
