Gooseberry Jam

A tantalizing blend of sweet and sour flavours makes this Gooseberry Jam an irresistible, almost-addictive treat for the Indian palate!
When gooseberries are in season, do not forget to make this jam often because it tastes so good with bread, rotis, parathas and other dishes.
You can even enjoy it plain! Store it in an airtight container in the fridge, where it will last for 10-15 days.

Makes 0.25 cup
3/4 cup roughly chopped gooseberries
1 tsp lemon juice
2 1/2 tbsp sugar
- Method
- Combine the gooseberries, lemon juice and ½ cup of water in a broad non-stick pan, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 10 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
- Add the sugar, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes, while stirring continuously.
- Cool completely and store in an air-tight container in the refrigerator. Use as required.
