Apple Jam with Cinnamon Recipe, Vegan and Gluten Free

Surprisingly, making jam is not always complex. There are some jams that are quite foolproof and can be made by anybody. This Apple Jam with Cinnamon is one such. Apple and cinnamon are a made-for-each-other combo, which feature in many dishes and desserts including the famous Apple Pie .
Here again, the duo feature in all their glory, giving you an aromatic and aesthetically flavoured jam, which can be enjoyed with a buttery toast, plain bread or even roti! This jam can be stored at room temperature for 5 or 7 days, and for 15 days in the fridge.

Makes 1 cup
2 cups chopped apples (unpeeled)
1 cup sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp cinnamon (dalchini) powder
- Method
- Combine all the ingredients along with 2 cups of water in a broad non-stick pan, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 20 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
- Mash it lightly and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
- Cool completely and store in an air-tight container. Use as required.

Hello there My daughter and I have decided to make some of this jam for bridal shower gifts but it does seen rather watery. We tried again, same thing. Does it thicken upon standing?

Loved this recipe. It turned out very yummy, especially the cinnamon taste. Just one query, the peels did not get mashed completely. Is using a blender to mash peels advisable?? Please advice!!

Thank you for sharing this jam recipe. I like the simplicity of the recipe and the ingredients used are easy to find. Apple and spices such as cinnamon blend so well together. A great way to use spare apples and also creates more diverse uses for them.
