Makes 3 masala pavs
For Masala Pav
3 ladi pav
butter for spreading
For The Masala Pav Masala
1 tbsp pav bhaji masala
2 tbsp oil
1 cup chopped onions
2 tsp finely chopped garlic (lehsun)
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
2 tsp finely chopped ginger (adrak)
1 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1/4 cup chopped capsicum
salt to taste
a pinch of turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp black salt (sanchal)
For The Garnish
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
For Serving With Masala Pav

For the masala pav masala
- For the masala pav masala
- Combine the oil, onions and garlic in a microwave safe bowl, mix well and microwave on high for 4 minutes.
- Add the tomatoes, ginger, green chillies, pav bhaji masala, turmeric powder, chilli powder and black salt, mix well and microwave on high for 3 minutes.
- Add the capsicum and salt, mix well and microwave on high for another 2 minutes.

- To make {span class="bold1"}masala pav{/span}, divide the masala into 6 equal portions. Keep aside.
- Slit a ladi pav horizontally into 2.
- Apply little butter on each side of the pav.
- Put a portion of the masala on one halve and close it. Put 1 more portion of the masala evenly over the pav till it gets evenly coated form all the sides and microwave on high for 30 seconds.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 to make 2 more masala pavs.
- Garnish with coriander and serve the {span class="bold1"}masala pav{/span} immediately with onion rings and lemon wedges.
For the masala of masala pav

For the microwave masala pav recipe, in a microwave safe bowl take oil and butter.

Add the onions and garlic. These are the quintessential ingredients of masala pav. Also, you can add a tablespoon of spicy chilli-garlic paste.

Mix well and microwave on high for 4 minutes.

Add the turmeric powder and chilli powder. For a bright red colour, add Kashmiri red chilli powder.

Add the black salt. It gives a chatpata flavor to the masala.

Mix well so that the masalas are spread evenly.

Microwave on high for 3 minutes.

Add the capsicum and salt.

Microwave on high for another 2 minutes. Your masala is ready!
To make masala pav in a microwave
