  1. Wash and add the moong dal in a pot.
  2. Add one cup of water,salt to taste and let the dal cook.
  3. The dal is done when the grain is cooked but is a little firm to touch.
  4. Turn of the stove.
  5. In a seperate kadai, add 3 tbsp of oil.
  6. Once the oil is hot add the cumin seeds and curry leaves.
  7. Add the chopped garlic and green chillies and saute it for a few seconds.
  8. Now add the small chopped onion and saute till it turns light brown in color.
  9. Add the cooked dal and the chopped dill to the onion mixture.
  10. Cover and cook on low heat for another 15 minutes.
  11. Garnish with chopped corrainder right before serving with chapati.
