Makes 4 servings
1 1/2 cups chopped mushrooms (khumbh)
3 tbsp oil
1/2 cup chopped onions
2 tsp chopped garlic (lehsun)
1/3 cup chopped capsicum
1/4 cup chopped tomatoes
salt to taste
a pinch turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tsp chilli powder
2 tsp dried mixed herbs
1 cup cooked rice (chawal)
For Garnishing
grated processed cheese cubes
Method
- Method
- Heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan, add the onions and garlic and saute till it turns brown.
- Add the capsicums and tomatoes, mix well and cook for 2 minutes on a slow flame.
- Add the mushrooms and cook for 3 minutes.
- Add the salt, turmeric, chilli powder, herbs and rice, mix gently and cook on a medium flame for 3 minutes.
- Serve hot garnished with grated cheese.

My friend loves mushrooms and i was looking for a main course Indian mushroom dish and I'm so glad I found this recipe! Although I did add a host of other veggies in the pulao, the mushroom remained the hero of the dish! Its tasty! thanks.
